AVGedang Foundation’s Seminar on the Rights of a Child
AVGedang Foundation firmly believes that one way of empowering children is by enabling them to participate in the promotion and protection of their own rights as children. With this, the foundation conducts a seminar guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child or UNCRC. Adopted in November 1989, the UNCRC has 54 articles that set out the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights that all children, regardless of race, religion, or abilities, are entitled to. The first seminar was conducted in August 26, 2019 by Ms. Vicky Dineros with the children of the foundation’s Dupax Reading and Learning Center in Quezon City. The content of the seminar was revisited by the children in November 2019 in celebration of the National Children’s Month. While we look forward to the time that we can conduct face-to-face seminars with our children again, we share with you some photos taken during the foundation’s very first seminar on the rights of the child, and some of the learners’ output. AV Gedang Foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of Envirokonsult and Waterkonsult that aims to give back to the companies’ partner communities by providing academic scholarships and feeding programs, organizing hygiene fairs, funding sports programs, promoting environmental protection as well as enrichment of culture and the arts.
