AV Gedang Foundation's advocacy for education and children extend to providing information on how to protect them against Online Sexual Exploitation.
AVGFI organized a webinar entitled "#CONNECTED: An Orientation to Eliminate Online Sexual Exploitation among Children" via Google meets video conferencing on July 24 (Saturday). This informative webinar was facilitated by Mrs. Eva Amor A. Dein, Education Coordinator of "Food for the Hungry", and was participated by our teen beneficiaries age 12 to 17 years old from Dupax Reading and Learning Center in Quezon City and students from Puypuy Elementary School, Masaya Elementary School and Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Bay, Laguna. AVGFI Coordinator Vicky Dineros together with the support of Admin. Manager Anabella V. Gedang and CSR staff assisted from the planning/preparation to the post webinar activities. Awareness and proper education about the recent statistics, laws and guidelines were discussed among the participants to widen their knowledge about the ongoing issue that the world is facing in terms of online abuse and its preventive measures. A Question and Answer portion was held at the later part of the webinar to give chance for additional inquiries from the participants and their comments. Today, challenge and risks arise during this digital era. Let us help our children be a critical thinker and protect their rights so that they can live free and safe from the abusers of the society. #heartsandhandsforothers
